Anica Skryane

Biography

Dramatic soprano Anica Skryane has developed a particular affinity for the great operatic repertoires: Italian verismo, the major French repertoire and the Germanic repertoire. Her vocal training, firmly rooted in the Italian bel canto tradition, enables her to approach roles requiring great dramatic intensity and vocal strength. She also possesses the flexibility characteristic of a dramatic coloratura soprano, allowing her to perform roles such as Lady Macbeth, Abigaille (Nabucco) and Odabella (Attila) by Verdi, as well as Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Elettra (Idomeneo, Re di Creta) and Vitellia (La clemenza di Tito) by Mozart, in addition to Cherubini’s Medea.

Anica Skryane studied at the Conservatoires à Rayonnement Régional of Marseille and Avignon, where she obtained a Diploma in Musical Studies (DEM) in Piano, awarded First Prize unanimously, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Piano Accompaniment. At the same time, she graduated with honours in Modern Literature and Musicology from Aix-Marseille University, completing a Master’s degree in Professional Writing.

Anica Skryane furthered her musical training at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree and an Agrégation with honours in Piano. In opera singing, she obtained a Diploma in Musical Studies (DEM) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Opera Singing at the CRR of Marseille, as well as a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Opera Singing at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Brussels. She continued to refine her artistry through work with renowned artists such as Leo Nucci, Pietro Spagnoli, Massimo Cavalletti, José Carreras and Rolando Villazón.

She performs as a soloist in a wide range of repertoires in France and abroad, appearing in prestigious venues and festivals such as the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels (role of Fiordiligi), the Casino of Sanremo (role of Liù), the Festival Jeunes Talents in Loudun, the Boris Christoff Theatre in Sofia (role of Micaëla), the Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire, and Sylvanès Abbey. In her hometown of Aix-en-Provence, she has performed at the Musée des Tapisseries, the Fondation Vasarely, and as part of the Les Nuits Pianistiques Festival.

In 2024, Skryane was selected for the Mascagni Academy of the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno and invited to participate in the Mascagni Festival. That same year, she took part in the prestigious Pesaro masterclass led by José Carreras, who selected her for the closing recital at the Teatro Rossini.

During the 2024–2025 season, she performed regularly at the Opéra de Nice with the CALM, under the direction of Elizabeth Vidal and André Cognet, and was a finalist in three international competitions: Bellano, “Katia Ricciarelli” and “Enzo Sordello”.

In 2025 Anica Sksyane performed numerous concerts in Slovenia and Italy, with programmes dedicated to Mozart, Puccini, Verdi and Wagner, collaborating among others with the Lucca Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Andrea Colombini.

In March 2026, she performed the role of Dido in Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, in a production with a baroque orchestra conducted by Carlos Gomez Orellana, in Aix-en-Provence and Marseille.
