Biography

Since the 2021/2022 season a member of the OperAvenir at Theater Basel, Ukrainian soprano Inna Fedorii is looking forward to her role debut as Gilda Rigoletto. On the main stage in Basel she has already performed Gabriel/Eva in a staged version of Haydn’s Die Schöpfung, Berta Il Barbiere di Siviglia, La Compagna in Luigi Nono’s Intolleranza, Woglinde Das Rheingold, Soprano solo in the cathedral/ Daughter/ Mother in Shostakovich’s Nose, Voix d’en haut Don Carlos. She sang scenes of Donna Anna and Purcell’s Fairy Queen in the production series Klassikermaschine. Coming up later this season are Philine in Thomas’ Mignon and Frasquita Carmen. Next season she is joining the ensemble at Staatstheater Wiesbaden.

Her concert performances have included the soprano solos in Emanuele d'Astorga's Stabat Mater, in Bach's Coffee Cantata, in Mozart's Requiem, in Rossini's Petite Messe Solenelle, Beethoven's Mass in C Major and in Orff’s Carmina Burana. She became 1st prize winner at the Wassyl Slipak Competition 2019 in Lviv and at the Oksana Petrusenko Competition 2017 in Kherson and was a finalist in the Eva Marton Competition 2018 in Budapest as well as at the Stanislaw Moniuszko Competition 2022.

Inna Fedorii studied choral conducting at the Ternopil Conservatory and subsequently singing at the Lviv National Music Academy, obtaining a Master's degree in 2021. She participated in the young artists’ programme Opera Academy at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw during 2019-2021, where she worked with Olga Pasichnyk, Matthias Rexroth and Eytan Pessen. In Basel her main coach is Hélio Vida. She has took part in master classes with Hedwig Fassbender, Andrea Sanguinetti, Eva Marton, Sylvain Cambreling, Michelle Breedt and Christine Schäfer.
