Apollonia Egyed is a leading soloist of the Hungarian Opera in Cluj Napoca in Romania. Her repertoire includes the title role of Manon Lescaut, Suor Angelica and Aida, Leonora Il Trovatore, Desdemona Otello, Amalia I Masnadieri, Mimi La Bohème, Nedda I Pagliacci, Micaela Carmen, Isabella Das Liebesverbot, Freia Das Rheingold, Contessa Le nozze di Figaro, Donna Elvira Don Giovanni, Rosalinde Die Fledermaus, leading roles in Pal’s Viktoria, Kodaly’s Hary Janos and Selmeczi’s Bizantyum. She is a frequent guest in Romanian opera houses as well as at the Hungarian National Opera in Budapest.
Her concert repertoire includes R.Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder, Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, Britten’s War Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem, Poulenc’s Stabat Mater, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Haydn’s Missa Cellensis (Mariazellermesse), Schubert’s Messe in G dur, Kodaly’s Badavari Te Deum, Orban’s Rorate Coeli and Constantinescu’s Oratoriu Bizantin de Craciun.
Apollonia Egyed obtained her Master’s degree in 2011 from the Gh.Dima Music Academy in Cluj Napoca. She was awarded 2. Prize at the Simándy József International Singing Competition 2016, received the Annamária Albert Ring-Prize 2016 and a Special Prize at the Hariclea Darclee International Singing Competition 2015.
