Biography

French-Italian soprano Lea Bianco Chinto is currently conquering the dramatic repertoire. Next summer, she is set to perform in the title role of Turandot at the Opera på skäret festival in Sweden. This year, she made her role debut as Leonora Il trovatore at Teatro Verdi in Genoa. Her previous roles have included Marguerite Faust and Contessa Le nozze di Figaro in Bolzano. In 2022, she sang her first Mimi La Bohème at the Festival lyrique de Samoëns, later reviving the role in Bolzano and again in 2023 at the San Remo Festival. In 2021, she performed as Nella Gianni Schicchi and Suor Cercatrice Suor Angelica for the Berlin Opera Academy. Her upcoming plans include the title role of Tosca for the Nizza Summer Festival and the TOSCA 3.0 e-project European tour in 2026.

In concert, she has sung the soprano solo in Francis Poulenc’s Gloria with the HEAR Orchestra, conducted by Julia Jones. With the baroque ensemble Akadêmia she performed Bach’s Magnificat and Trauer Ode in La Chaise-Dieu. She has developed her skills in contemporary music at the Printemps des Arts de Monaco, under the guidance of Kaija Saariaho. She appeared as a soloist with the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, participated in a Verdi recital in Ventimiglia and gave a solo recital in the foyer of the Opéra de Nice.

Lea Bianco Chinto began her musical education at an early age in the Children’s Choir of the Opéra de Nice. She continued her vocal studies in Monte Carlo and obtained a diploma from the Haute école des arts du Rhin in Strasbourg. She participated in master classes with Annick Massis, François Le Roux, Karl-Peter Kammerlander, Nicola Beller Carbone, Inva Mula, among others. Her current singing teacher is Norah Amsellem, and she is being coached by Kira Parfeevets and Attilio Tomasello.

In 2018, she was a semi-finalist at the Voix Nouvelles Competition. She reached the finals at the Beziers Competition 2022, at the Opéra en Arles Competition 2023 and at the Concorso Premio Giuseppe Taddei 2023 in Genoa. At the Ottavio Garaventa Competition 2023, she was awarded the „Soprano Puccinienne“ prize, and a year later, she won 1st prize in the same competition.
