Biography

Young Armenian mezzo-soprano Bella Amaryan made her stage debut at the Armenian National Opera as Dalila in a semi staged performance of Samson et Dalila in 2021. At the Paronyan Musical and Comedy Theatre she performed Anita West Side Story as well as the role of the Clown in the opera King on the Square by Vache Sharafyan, which was also performed at the Festival Teatro Nudo in Milan. In 2022 she sang Emilia Otello in concert with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Eduard Topchyan. Her debut as Carmen took place in 2024 at the Armenian National Opera, under the baton of Karen Durgaryan.

Bella Amaryan earned her Bachelor’s degree in 2019 at Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory where she studied with Nona Melkumova. She obtained her Master's degree in 2021. She became 1st prize winner at the competition Renaissance. Since 2018 she is a member of the Young Artists Program at the Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Armenia under the direction of Levon Javadyan. There she has participated in concerts and master classes, sang solo in the Christmas oratorio by Camille Saint-Saëns at the Komitas Chamber Music Hall and participated in a gala concert with the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia, conducted by Gianluca Marciano.
She sang the alto part in Beethoven's 9th symphony at the opening of the Yerevan Music Festival with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Eduard Topchian.
