Biography

Young Latvian baritone Daniils Pogoriless holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree from the Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music, where he performed the roles of Silvio I Pagliacci and Malatesta Don Pasquale in student productions.

During the 2022/2023 season, he made his successful house debut at the Latvian National Opera, as Masetto Don Giovanni. He was then invited to sing Belcore L'elisir d'amore and Lotario in Händel's Flavio. In summer 2025, he made his German debut at the Heidelberger Schlossfestspiele, performing the roles of Morales and Dancaire in Bizet's Carmen.

Daniils Pogoriless has further honed his vocal and stage artistry, notably through his participation in the Mascarade Emerging Artists Programme in Florence. This experience allowed him to perform at esteemed venues, including the Royal Theatre of Parma, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and Teatro della Pergola in Florence.

In 2022, he participated in the prestigious Operalia competition. His recent accolades include First Prize at the Havets Röst Competition 2025 in ÅIand, and the Gabriele Foresta Prize for Best Baritone Voice at the Ottavio Ziino Competition 2024.
