Biography

Young Australian baritone Jeremy Boulton joined the Opernstudio of the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich in 2023. His repertoire there includes Fiorello Il barbiere di Siviglia, Vicomte Cascada Die lustige Witwe, Dancaire Carmen and various roles in Les Misérables. In Australia, he has performed Marcello La Bohème, Demetrius A Midsummer Night's Dream, Papageno Die Zauberflöte, Conte Le nozze di Figaro, Aeneas Dido and Aeneas, Uberto La serva padrona, Baron Reintal in Lortzing's Die Opernprobe, Secret Police Agent The Consul and Death in Holst's Savitri, a role he also performed with Staatstheater Saarbrücken in February 2025.

In concert he has performed Mozart's Requiem, Händel's Messiah, Dixit Dominus, J.Haydn's Missa Sancti Nikolai, Charpentier's Messe de Minuit, Bach's Cantatas BWV 38, 82, 166, M.Haydn's Regina Coeli and Telemann's Machet die Tore Weit.

Hailing from Wollongong, Australia, Jeremy Boulton studied at the Opera School of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with Maree Ryan AM. He has participated in masterclasses led by Richard Bonynge AC, CBE, Jessica Pratt, Gerald Finley OC, CBE, Barbara Frittoli, Fabio Armiliato, Graham Pushee and Dr. Graham Johnson OBE. He attended the Georg Solti Accademia in 2023 and is also the Co-Creator of the opera podcast So You Think You Can Belto?

In 2022, he was awarded the Marianne Mathy Scholarship and Nicole Car Prize at the IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition, 1st Prize at the Sydney International Song Prize, 2nd Prize in the Bel Canto Award from the Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge Foundation and 2nd Prize in the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship. He also won the Theater Erfurt engagement at the 41st Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition and shared 1st Prize at the 4th Fresno State Art Song Festival in California, USA.
