Erkki Lauri Alste, the managing director of the Stretta Artists, holds a master of music degree from the Sibelius-Academy in Helsinki, majoring in violin and singing (diploma with excellence). He also graduated as a voice teacher and a choir conductor. Alste continued his voice studies at the music conservatory in Aachen, Germany. After his return to Finland he worked as a music teacher and led several choirs for more than 10 years. From 1991 to 1996 he served as director of the popular "Tikkurila song classes" and a concert cycle bound to the festival.
In 1994 he started his first music agency named Orfeo Music in Helsinki, where he acted as a concert producer as well as agent for young Finnish opera singers. Between 1997 and 2001 he led the Savonlinna Opera Agency bound to the well known international opera festival.
In 2001 Erkki Lauri Alste moved to Germany and continued his work as an international opera manager and in 2003 he founded the agency Opera-Connection in Berlin together with his colleague Guido Mödersheim. He continued parallel to work in Finland for his management Alste Artists, which has now changed its name to "Stretta Artists Management".
