Biography

Young Israeli tenor David Goldberg made his German debut in 2023 at Theater Kiel in the role of Edrisi in Szymanowski's Krol Roger. He sang his first Rodolfo La Bohème with Jerusalem Lyric Opera & Festival 2021 and his first Cavaradossi Tosca under the baton of Paolo Spadaro at the same festival in 2022. In the spring 2024 he is performing his first Calaf Turandot with the Vanemuine Theatre in Tartu, Estonia.

David Goldberg received his B.A. in vocal performance from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in 2020. His teachers have been Bibiana Goldenthal, Jeffrey Francis, Zvi Semel, Sofia Mazar and currently Kristian Benedikt. In 2020 and again in 2022 he received the Excellence Outstanding Scholarship for Classical Singing from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. He won 1st prize at the Corsica Lirica Competition 2022 and at the Jerusalem International Opera Competition 2022.
