Biography

American soprano Tina Marie Herbert will make her debut at Staatsoper Hannover in 2017/18 season as Miranda in Stephen McNeff’s children’s opera Gentle Giant, as well as Papagena in a new production of Die Zauberflöte.

From 2014 to 2017 Tina Marie Herbert was an ensemble member of Landestheater Schleswig-Holstein in Flensburg, where she shined in roles such as Adele in Die Fledermaus, Despina in Così fan tutte, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Maria in West Side Story. She also sang Frasquita in Carmen, Valencienne in Die Lustige Witwe, Stasi in Die Csárdásfürstin, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel and the soprano solo in Carmina Burana.

While earning her Master’s degree at the Hannover University of Music, Drama and Media, Tina Marie Herbert gained her first professional stage experience at Theater Osnabrück as Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore and in a staged version of Telemann’s oratorio Der aus der Löwengrube errettete Daniel. She performed Anna Reich in Die Lustige Weiber von Windsor, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Zerlina in Don Giovanni and Monica in The Medium in the student productions.

Tina Marie Herbert received her Bachelor’s degree at Ball State University, Indiana, USA. In 2012 she was chosen by Renata Scotto to be a member of the opera studio at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Rome, Italy.
