Biography

Russian soprano Maria Buinosova joined the ensemble of the Novaya Opera in 2017. Her repertoire there includes Gilda/ Rigoletto, Violetta/ La Traviata, Marfa/ Tsar’s Bride and Juliette/ Roméo et Juliette.

Since 2015 she has appeared regularly at the Bolshoi Theatre performing Marfa/ Tsar’s Bride and Gerda/ The story of Kai and Gerda.

In 2016/2017 Maria Buinosova was a soloist at the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St. Petersburg and made role debuts as Violetta/ La Traviata, Nedda/ I Pagliacci, Pamina/ Die Zauberflöte and Contessa/ Le nozze di Figaro.

She performed her first roles Gorislava/ Ruslan and Ludmila, Tatyana/ Eugene Onegin, Micaela/ Carmen, Ksenia/ Boris Godunov and Marfa/ Tsar’s Bride during two seasons 2013-2015 at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center.

Maria Buinosova studied music in her hometown Orenburg and started her career as a concert singer. She has sung such works as Mozart’s Requiem, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and Vivaldi’s Gloria. She was a finalist at the Francisco Viñas International Competition 2016 and at the TV Opera Competition «The Grand Opera» 2017 and received 2nd prize at the Byulbyul International Competition 2018 in Baku.
