Angelina Shvachka is a principal soloist at the National Opera of Ukraine. Her repertoire includes the great Verdi roles Eboli, Amneris, Fenena, Azucena and Ulrica, the title role of Carmen, Laura in La Gioconda, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, the title role of La Cenerentola, Dalila in Samson et Dalila, Marina Mnishek in Boris Godunov, Polina in The Queen of Spades, Olga and Filipyevna in Eugene Onegin, Konchakovna in Prince Igor, Lyubasha in The Tzar’s Bride, Princess Clarice in Prokofiev’s Love for Three Oranges, a.o.
She has appeared as a guest at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Odessa Opera Theatre, PromFest and Birgitta Festivals in Estonia, Shalyapin Opera Festival in Kazan, Malmö Opera Festival, Montreal Opera Festival, Hector Berlioz Festival in St. Malo, Festival of Sacred Music at la Chaise-Dieu in France, a.o.
Angelina Shvachka portrayed Catherine the Great in the film Zaporizhia Cossack Beyond Danube in 2006 (based on Hulak-Artemovsky’s opera of the same name). In concert she has performed solo parts in Verdi’s, Mozart’s, Fauré’s and Saint-Saëns’ Requiems.
As a soloist of the National Opera of Ukraine she has toured extensively in Canada, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Italy, France, Poland, Belgium, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Turkey, Japan.
Angelina Shvachka graduated from the P. I. Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine. She is prizewinner of the Klaudia Taev International Competition in 2004 and 2005, and received a diploma and a special prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2001.
