Mezzo-soprano Solenn' Lavanant Linke is a freelance artist based in Switzerland. Her recent performances include Cherubino at the Bayerische Staatsoper in the new production of Christoph Loy as well as the title role of Charpentier’s Médée with Oper Zürich, under the baton of William Christie. In Budapest she performed Bernstein’s Jeremiah Symphony conducted by Dennis Russell Davies. In Zürich, Basel and Bern she sang Cyrus/ Händel’s Belshazzar and the role of Ilione/ Campra’s Idomenée at the Schönbrunn Schlosstheater in Vienna.
In 2018/2019 her guest engagements are leading her to Mainz as Cherubino and to Luzern as Donna Elvira/ Don Giovanni. In addition to her opera performances she is participating in the world premiere of Fritz Hauser’s Klangkörper at the Lucerne Festival, singing Mozart’s Great Mass in c minor in Zürich and touring with Ensemble Mondrian in Switzerland.
From 2009 to 2015 Solenn’ Lavanant Linke was an ensemble member at Theater Basel where she had a chance to work with famous directors, such as Calixto Bieito, Benedikt Von Peter, David Bösch, Arpad Schilling, Elmar Goerden und Armin Petras. Her roles in Basel ranged from M.A.Charpentier’s Médée and Mozart roles Cherubino, Dorabella, Idamante to the title role of Carmen, Kuchtik/ Rusalka, Varvara/ Katya Kabanova, Marguerite/ La Damnation de Faust, Muse/Nicklausse/ Les Contes d’Hoffmann and Charlotte/ Werther.
As a guest Solenn’ Lavanant Linke has appeared at the Festival Aix-en-Provence 2013 as Ippolita/ Cavalli’s Elena, at the Schwetzingen SWR Festival 2011 as Merione/ Gluck’s Telemaco, and with Opéra de Lausanne as Enfant/ L’Enfant et les Sortilèges. She sang Penelope/ Il ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria with the company In the Lab in Lausanne, Ottavia/ L’Incoronazione di Poppea with Festival d’Ambronay and Hermia/ A Midsummer Night's Dream in Mézière. In the opening production Da Ponte in New York at Neues Theater Dornach in 2015 she performed the role of Mozart, followed by Sesto/ La Clemenza di Tito and Poulenc’s La voix humaine in 2016 and 2017.
On her first CD-recording under the baton of Leonardo Garcia Alarcon, Solenn’ Lavanant Linke sings the title role of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, nominated for the MIDEM Classical Awards 2011. With the conductor Hervé Niquet she recorded Music for the Prix de Rome with music by Camille Saint-Saëns.
Solenn' Lavanant Linke studied arts in Paris before enrolling at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne. After her graduation she was a member of the opera studio OperAvenir at Theater Basel in 2008/2009. Her stage debut took place in 2007 as Dorothée/ Cendrillon with Theater Bern followed by La Prima Tromba/ La Prova d'Orchestra and Smeraldine/ L'amour des trois oranges.
