Michael Heine was born in Russia, but has German roots and lives currently in Berlin. After his graduation from the Music Institute in Togliatti and having won several prizes in vocal competitions he became a resident artist at the Moscow Boris Pokrovsky Chamber Opera Theatre in 2008-2015 performing Sarastro, Commendatore in Don Giovanni, Gran Sacerdote in Idomeneo, Trulove in The Rake’s Progress, Black Bob in Britten’s Let’s make an opera, Colagianni in Pulcinella by Pergolesi-Stravinsky, Chub in Tchaikovsky’s Vakula the smith, Lord Syndham in Lortzing’s Zar und Zimmermann, and a whole range of roles in Russian and Soviet operas of Shostakovich, Sidelnikov and Rostovsky.

Michael Heine will be performing the role of Lodovico in Otello at the Theater Nordhausen in the season 2017/2018.
